This programme is an introduction to Incident Command System and provides a foundation for advanced Incident Command System Training.

Aim
ICS is designed to provide Resources and Initial Action Incidents respond by achieving tactical objectives by teaching personnel how to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System. Also provides training on and efficient use of resources for personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within the ICS.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Describe and identify the key concepts, principles, scope, and applicability
- Describe activities and methods for managing resources.
- Describe the ICS Management Characteristics.
- Identify and describe Incident Command System (ICS) organizationalstructures.
- Explain Emergency Operations Center (EOC) functions, common models forstaff organization, and activation levels.
- Explain the interconnectivity within the ICS Management and Coordinationstructures: Joint Information System (JIS), and Multiagency CoordinationGroups (MAC Groups) (Unified Command).
- Identify and describe the characteristics of communications and informationsystems, effective communication, incident information, and communicationstandards.

Tabletop exercise to be completed on later date on the request of the organization. Please note that each area will be aligned to the organization structure for applicability and effectiveness. Also, each area will be expounded on for clarity and understanding.
